Christ is the Real Reason for the Season

I have to completely and utterly disagree with the Title.
Every Christmas, (a holiday I used to love, because of tradition), I'd be joyous and happy, because of the festivities and lights and trees and decorations, and every year I would tell people the very same thing that you are doing... until I stumbled on a verse, that looked at something: I'll share with you:
Before I start, here is a question: If there was an abominable thing, in the sight of God, that was covered with the best mask possible, is that thing still abominable

I present another case of words:
TREE, DECK, GOLD, SILVER
which holiday are you immediately reminded off?

Here is the verse:
Jeremiah 10:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Now in this verse, Jeremiah was talking about idols that people were making, and that even though its an idol, it couldn't be compared to THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY...

But look at it, they were worshiping the very same description of a Christmas Tree, some bibles may try to sway the matter otherwise by adding footnotes or additional text, but you can look into the matter yourself, DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, use GOD'S WORD, PRAY for the TRUTH... also look at the traditions of pagans...

Now here in lies the matter, that was then, this is now...

The last time I checked, GOD doesn't change. See - Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8.
We may try to say, they were worshiping idols, we are worshiping God, when we do these things...
Lets here what God has said about this:

Deuteronomy 12:
30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

The times may have changed, but God's Word is still up-to-date

Lets try and justify some more: "The Old Testament is done away with..."
Hmmm... while I disagree, I'm happy you mentioned Old Testament, because the Christmas traditions have been around since long before Christ was born... [was called Saturnalia & was way more worse]

But for the sake of argument, lets look at what the New Testament says:

Acts 15:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Pollutions of Idols... I would conclude that is has to do with anything having to do with idolatry!

Revelations 18:
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Note verse 3: What are the odds that everything in Christendom is pure?

Matthew 15:
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Nowhere in the scriptures is there a date set, we know it couldn't be winter... but don't take anything I say as gospel, I would rather you show the interest and look into the matter.

Notably, I have only spoken to you with scripture, nothing else... if you look into the history, the knowledge of these things is not lacking, the zeal for God among us I must say, is.

We have gotten much too comfortable... that almost anything is accepted and acceptable... what we listen to, watch, allow ourselves to participate in, whether secular or if it wears the "banner of Christ"

Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Look at the example of what Aaron did in Exodus 32, and note verse 5. He proclaims a feast unto God... But God was sore displeased.
If that was the case back then, is God still displeased with that same assumption...?
